The Aliab Dinka Uprising of October 30, 1919, marked one of the earliest organized resistances against British rule in Sudan. The revolt arose from oppressive taxation, forced labor, and the erosion of traditional governance. Although the uprising was suppressed, it ignited a spirit of resistance that influenced later independence movements across Sudan and South Sudan.
